Yet another productive day.

And I mean it that way, no sarcasm here. ;)

Classes were pretty good today, I feel yet again like I’m going at the right pace (willingly ignoring that I have two essays due next week, lawl).  Seriously though, classes were good, no boredom, and little or no doodling from my side (as much as I like doodling, I shouldn’t.  Not during class DX)

So yeah…

Anyways, on Thursday, Carol Ann Duffy, the British Poet Laureate, will have a reading at my campus.  I’m gonna go there, because how many chances like that are going to come up in the near future?  I think it’s gonna be great, one way or another (I’m not just going for the -free- food reception after.  Did I mention it was free?

EDIT:

Now, I’ve never heard of the music-related show X Factor before (*le gasp!*), but anyways, I randomly found this while checkin my Yahoo inbox (s’right, not hotmail. :P ).  This blogger (Lyndsey Parker) made me giggle, I especially like the expression “twin-terror tour de force“. XD

Those twins did, to an extent (just a tiny bit), make me think of the Hitachin twins from OHSHC.  But in the end, their act just isn’t as classy. XP  They should spare us of any further twin-love acts, as sorta hinted at in the video embedded in the blog.

I did ponder a bit about the judges’ comments.  I mean, they admitted to considering the twins of lesser talent when it came to singing (which is what the show is actually about though, no?), and that they wanted to see them again for the entertainment value.  And I guess to some degree, they do have e.v.; but this show is supposed to pick the cream of the crop in singing (which does involve entertaining too, yes).  By letting them keep going they might rob someone else of their chance (or have done so already… )

But then again, the people who vote are also to “blame” I suppose.  If they want this type of entertainment over and actual talent, they sort of deserve each other.  Same applies to American Idol or any other Idol out there I guess.

It could also be a “twin-terror tour de farce“, imo.
