Now that that’s out of the way…

Well, having finally uncluttered my room, I felt somewhat accomplished. But, fact was, without being able to use a computer, I had a lot of time on my hands. So I decided to use it to further clean up my room, now that I had (more or less) some empty space to fill and all.

I guess I won’t bother going into detail about the how and what, and in the end the day was rather eventless.

But, I should mention something else of relevance:  I LOVE sleeping with music. By that I mean, have songs play as I drift into sleep, and have them play when I wake up. While at first, after losing my computer, I resorted to playing CD’s in Repeat mode with my DVD player, I decided that that wasn’t the way to go at night. I mean, it required the TV and the player to be on, and I was limited to one CD, which is like 10 to 20 songs, playing over and over…

And my CD collection isn’t exactly grand. In the times of iTunes and downloadable music (and adding the fact that I didn’t feel like bringing ALL my music to Canada with me, especially after it had successfully transferred onto my computer), there seemed to be little need for me to purchase any more either.

Of course, I had my iPod, but I was reluctant to use it. After all, leaving it on all night long drains the battery quite a bit, depending also on how many times I skipped songs ( > resulting in backlight lighting up > resulting in loss of more battery). Anyways, I wasn’t too fond of the idea. After all, I’d want to use it on the way to school, or in between classes, things like that.

But, there had been a (short) time once before during which I couldn’t use my laptop to charge it, and I had resorted to charging it with my Wii (hurray for USB slots in everything nowadays). So I figured, hey, I could just stand up early every day and charge it on the Wii for an hour or longer. And that plan would be my strategy for the next few days, and perhaps will be until I get my laptop fixed and all.

So, connecting the iPod with my speakers, I was finally somehow back to my old rhythm. I decided to go without music for most of the time at home, meaning I would only use the iPod when going to bed, waking up, and being at school. It would charge or stay off for the rest of the day, and I would do other things, like writing and drawing.

This entry is filed under ‘Retrospectively Recapped’ - a category that I will only apply to entries that are not written on the very same they they appear as posted. I recognize this category as an important one to emphasize that, when I go over events that are no longer fresh in my mind, I am certain to leave out things or value issues differently. I’m sure it’ll somehow show in my writing too; whether or not I have recapped something.
